Hooker's Lips Flower.....kiss of Flower

These gorgeous red luscious lips belong to a plant known as Psychotria Elata, a tropical tree found in the rain forests of Central and South American countries like Colombia, Costa Rica, Panama and Ecuador. Psychotria Elata is called Hooker's Lips or the Hot Lips Plants. The plant attracts pollinators including hummingbirds and butterflies to kiss its lips, so transferring pollen from flower stamen to pollinate the ovary.

هذه الشفاه الحمراء القانية الفاتنة هي لنبات معروف باسم سيكوتوريا إلاتا، وهو نبات إستوائي يوجد في الغابات المطيرة في بلدان أمريكا الوسطى والجنوبية مثل كولومبيا وكوستاريكا وبنما والاكوادور. ويطلق على هذه النبات اسم شعبي وهو نبات شفاه الغواني (المومسات) أو نبات الشفاه الساخنة. وتجذب هذه الشفاه القانية من يود تقبيلها من الملقحات من الطيور الطنانة والفراشات فهذا يساهم في نقل غبار الطلع من السداة إلى المبيض لتلقيحها.

Though static portraits of birds at rest are pleasing aesthetically, but no doubt the birds-in-flight shots are more lively and captivating. The main problem with photographing birds in flight is that they’re moving, so one should be equipped with a fast shutter camera that can shoot continuously at 5 frames per second and fast focusing telephoto lens. For daylight shots, professional recommend that you select a location where the sun is behind you and the birds will be flying perpendicular to the front of your lens. Patience, long periods of observation and studying flight patterns are essential.

We are used to long distance jumping fish, like the Salmon. But the Exocoetidae or Flying Fish, is a family of fishes that have the ability to emerge out of the water and glide for long distances with their outstretched pectoral fins.

اعتدنا على رؤية السمك ذو القفزات الطويلة مثل سمك السلمون. ولكن أسماك إكسوسوتيدا أو السمك الطائر هي عائلة من الأسماك لديها القدرة على الخروج من الماء والتحليق الشراعي لمسافات طويلة بزعانفها الصدرية المفرودة.

Their streamlined torpedo shape helps them gather enough underwater speed to break the surface, and their large, wing-like fins get them airborne. To glide upward out of the water, a flying fish moves its tail up to 70 times per second. Once in the air, these fishes can glide for around 50 meters, but some fishes have been recorded to fly up to 200 meters or more. Some species of flying fish have enlarged pelvic fins as well as enlarged pectoral fins, which allows them to fly further than the two winged gliders (up to 400 meters), and have far greater maneuverability. These fishes are known as four-winged flying fish. Flying fish is commercially fished in Asian countries such as Japan, Vietnam and China, including the Caribbean.
